Become like a lake

A STORY ON ACCURATE PERCEPTION OF LIFE:

An aging Hindu master grew tired of his apprentice complaining and so, one morning, sent him for some salt. When the apprentice returned, the master instructed the unhappy young man to put a handful of salt in a glass of water and then to drink it.
"How does it taste?" the master asked.
 "Bitter," spit the apprentice.

The master chuckled and then asked the young man to take the same handful of salt and put it in the lake. The two walked in silence to the nearby lake and once the apprentice swirled his handful of salt in the water, the old man said, "Now drink from the lake."

As the water dripped down the young man's chin, the master asked, "How does it taste?"
"Fresh," remarked the apprentice.

"Do you taste the salt?" asked the master.

"No," said the young man.

At this the master sat beside this serious young man, who so reminded him of himself, and took his hands, offering:
"The pain of life is pure salt; no more, no less. The amount of pain in life remains exactly the same. However, the amount of bitterness we taste depends on the container we put the pain in. So when you are in pain, the only thing you can do is to enlarge your sense of things. Stop being a glass. BECOME THE LAKE!"

Generosity

A teaching about generosity from the 4th Century Egyptian Desert hermit & Teacher, Amma Sarah:
‘When some monks visited Amma Sarah, she offered them a little basket of fruit. They selected the poorest fruit to eat, leaving the best for her. Sarah said ‘You are true monks’.

Generosity is a vibrational level.
It is a state of being & occurs on the physical, emotional, energetic & spiritual levels.
When I practice generosity it neutralizes my negative karma and produces positive karma & allows me to experience other virtues such as loving kindness, honesty, compassion, patience, and humility (from Master Choa Kok Sui's teachings)
The opposites to generosity include entitlement, stealing, judgement & separation & all thoughts, words & actions that act against the Universal Law- that we are all One.

Generosity is a moment by moment choice.

Sacred Alchemy

The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Transformation Process.
Alchemy in the middle ages was the ability to turn lead into gold.
Was this to be understood literally or in a spiritual way?
When I an upset or impatient my aura can be clairvoyantly observed to appear grey & dirty (lead).
If I look at a spiritual teacher (or saint) I can see their aura to be shiny & golden in colour (gold).
Pranic Healing & the esoteric teachings of energy & transformation reveals the power of each of us to do sacred alchemy on & for ourselves.
The Twin Hearts meditation in Pranic Healing uses these principles of sacred alchemy contained in the prayer ascribed to St Francis of Assisi.
This prayer is a road map for the transformation through forgiveness & the Law of Karma.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

The first verse gives me instructions to facilitate the transformation process.
It reminds me that the blessings all come through God & I am a channel for these blessings.

Step 1 on this process is transforming hatred into love = forgiveness. This is the door to the spiritual journey. Forgiveness strengthens & expands the heart chakra.
A strong heart chakra, which is the seat of loving kindness & compassion, allows the crown chakra to expand! The crown chakra is the centre of Divine Love. It’s the domino effect of changing ‘sadness into joy’
Understanding the spiritual technology of prayers & meditations are taught in Master Choa Kok Sui’s Pranic Healing courses.

The Prayer of St Francis gives me a powerful description of what sacred alchemy can achieve each day for me.
I can transform:
Hatred
to love
Injury
to pardon
Doubt
to faith
Despair
to hope
Darkness
to light

This can be summarised as the scared alchemy of transformation of ‘lead into gold’ as we transform :
Sadness
Into joy

The power of this simple prayer changes lives.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

This second verse describes the Law of Karma.
‘it is in giving that we receive’
I must give to receive
Therefore I need to:
Console
to be consoled
Understand
to be understood
Love
to be loved
Pardon
to be pardoned

This is how I will neutralise my negative karma & generate good karma.
Without love there can be no bliss (which comes from the crown chakra)

Do you want to know more of this?
Pranic Healing has the teachings.

I would like to acknowledge Master Choa Kok Sui & Master Stephen Co for these teachings. THANK YOU

Inner Calmness

Certain Pranic breathing exercises physically purify the body & psychologically purify the soul. Pranic breathing regulates your emotions, thoughts & increases your energy level. Some Pranic breathing techniques, when practiced properly, upgrade the quality of your brain & energy body!
Proper breathing gives you calmness & stillness, an effortless Inner Calmness.
Master Choa Kok Sui on Meditation
How amazing is that? Simple, accessible, easy to learn & life changing.

What is the consequences of effortless Inner Calmness?
This calmness allows for an awareness that enables you to engage in higher spiritual activities. It creates a space for peace & love to flow & you get to experience the Divine.

How amazing is that? Simple, accessible, easy to learn & life changing.

What are the consequences of experiencing the Divine?
Enough words have been written across the ages & the truth is ... It needs to be experienced.
So let’s experiment right here & right now .. it is easy.
Inhalation .. gap ... exhalation ... gap ... inhalation ... gap ...exhalation ... gap .. inhalation .. gap ... exhalation ... gap ... inhalation ... gap ...exhalation ... gap ..

It takes a little practice & as you build your capacity to stay focused on the stillness & the space created by breath awareness. Within one or two or ten breaths inner calmness arises.

What is the difference between the experience of suffering & inner stillness?
It is all in a breath.
How amazing is that? Simple, accessible, easy to learn & life changing.

Wait for the right time .....

If it is not truthful and not helpful, don't say it.
If it is truthful and not helpful, don't say it.
If it is not truthful and helpful, don't say it.
If it is truthful and helpful, wait for the right time.
-Buddha

If it is truthful and helpful, wait for the right time.
.......Wait for the right time......

When is the right time?

I was thinking that the ‘right time’ was about the other person & their readiness.
Now I see it is about my readiness!
Before I give advice as the Buddha tells us it must be truthful & helpful.
Now can I be sure that it is truthful & at what level of truth are we working on?
Is it helpful? Can I really know what another needs?
If I answer “yes” I will need to go deeper (as demonstrated in The Work of Byron Katie)

A good question is:
Can I be absolutely sure it is true that this person needs this advice/truth or help?

The right time is when:
  • What I say, to be truthful & helpful, has no vested interest or outcome for me
  • What I say doesn't manipulate the other to support & feed my ego
  • Saying it creates no charge in me. That is, does not raise my passion or personality
  • I have lived my own advice/truth & help for a minimum of 5 years say.
Blessings
Fara
P.S On Saturday May 26th I am offering a workshop on The Work of Byron Katie.

Balance & Stability

Balance & stability is the starting point for all successful & sustainable growth. This applies to business decisions, yoga positions & spiritual growth. Growth is only possible if flow is established in your life. As we all know & experience change is constant & continual & when we experience resistance to change we suffer or apply excessive force in our lives. The ability to flow within a breath, within a moment, a day, a year & in a lifetime requires endless practice. It requires self awareness, self observation, meditation, contemplation-this is the work part of spiritual work!

To achieve this starting point, of balance & stability, calmness is required.
To achieve calmness Master Choa Kok Sui says purification is necessary.
Purification begins with certain breathing exercises (taught in the Basic Pranic Healing Course).
These breathing exercises physically purify the body of diseased, used up energy & psychologically purify the soul.

Breathing exercises regulate your emotions & your thoughts allowing calmness to arise.
When calmness arises & is sustained then balance & stability become available.
It is from this place that successful & sustainable growth is possible.
The sayings like ‘take three deep breaths’ contains a truth.

So experiment with paying attention to your breath.
It is a spiritual practice & a discipline & is much harder than you think!
Yet the practice creates the balance & stability required for true growth.

Meditation Creates Time!

Meditation on Twin Hearts.
Grand Master Choa Kok Sui developed and taught the technique of Meditation on Twin Hearts to create personal healing and positive life transformation. This meditation is truly special & works on the physical, mental, and spiritual levels to open the heart chakra (the physical heart) and the crown chakra (the spiritual heart), thereby enabling you to draw down a great amount of high-quality divine energy into the crown.

This meditation creates flow.
We are all energy beings in an ocean of energy.
When the energy flows we have:
Vitality
Loving kindness & compassions to others
Magnetism or attractiveness – this affects others in a positive way & we attract more positive opportunities into our life.
As if life feeds & grows us in a way that is more amazing than we could have thought.
Transformation occurs & as the Prayer of St. Francis of says:
We become a channel of light
Transforming
Hatred into love
Injury into pardon
Despair into hope
Doubt into faith
Darkness into light
Sadness into joy.

This meditation creates time.
I often just notice that meditation takes time (10 min, 20 mins, 30 min)
“I am too busy to meditate’, ‘I haven’t got time to meditate”
Yet I fail to notice when I meditate something profound changes & I have more time.
Disproportionally more time is given me that I gave to meditation.
Excellent ROI (return on investment).
As Master Choa Kok Sui says:
Spiritual practices are easy the only hard part is remembering!

each meditation is a new journey

My experience is ‘the more I meditate the more I need to meditate’ this doesn’t happen overnight & yet is does happen
What is meditation?
Each individual meditation is a new journey or pilgrimage.
Such journeys have been tested & signposted by mystics from all spiritual traditions & spiritual teachers throughout time.
Where does the journey take me?
Meditation is an activity that allows me to experience my inner world.
There is a very big difference between my outer world & my inner world !
One is the ‘grasping’ (Lord Buddha) world of the 5 senses, the egoic defences & the personality - all of which create suffering.

The inner world (also known as heaven) is the place of stillness, peace, bliss, knowing & a place that feels like a real home.
Meditation allows me to turn within, it turns the volume down on my personality & allows me to feel the fine & subtle energy of the essence.

Master Choa Kok Sui, founder of Pranic Healing & author of over 19 books on the subject, provides a map for the journey.
He provides a map & a list of 5 requirements or foundations for a spiritual journey.
This map & list of requirements allows the traveller to be safe, grounded & steady & to be both spiritual & practical!
These requirements are:
1.      Respect for the Divine
2.      Techniques for physical purification & inner purification
3.      Meditation techniques to ensure a balanced growth
4.      A recommended list of books to study
5.      Service & tithing
For example:
Meditation creates an inner charge (yin energy) & this needs to be balanced & expressed as service & tithing (yang energy).
